The Bow Valley Music Festival provides music students with an opportunity to perform before their peers, family, and friends in an encouraging master-class atmosphere. Our aim is to foster a love for music and inspire the youth of the Valley to develop this life-skill to its fullest potential. The festival provides the music teachers of the Valley with a venue in which to exchange ideas and support. The Bow Valley Music Festival 2023 is excited to stage a live Festival after 2 years of Virtual Festivals. This is a friendly reminder to register interested students between FEBRUARY 1st and MARCH 9th when registration closes. ** Check this out if you're interested in singing/playing a solo for a masterclass style festival. For more information and to register please visit our website www.bvmusicfestival.com If you have any questions or concerns please send them to [email protected] Hey everyone. Here is a great opportunity you should know about (non-music related). Although, we will be doing this for music as well soon, in our mentorship/buddy program.

Hope to see some of you out for the evening. 😊 It’s always an amazing evening of music! We have begun our Purdy’s fundraising campaign. Your child should have their own unique Purdy’s letter shared with them through Google Classroom. However, I have attached a document with each student’s login and ‘Join Link’ that you can use to send out to family and friends. Please read through your child’s letter for more instructions.
Purdy’s has always been an incredible fundraiser for us. Many families who own businesses or work in an office that need Christmas gifts for their employees use this fundraiser to purchase what they need. ** The profit from everything sold goes directly into your child’s personal music account. This is not a shared fundraiser. The more they individually sell, the more money they collect into their personal music account through the Cochrane High School Band Parents Association. This CHSBPA music account can be used to pay for uniforms, CHSBPA $40 fee, music field trips/tour, etc. It cannot be used to pay RVS school fees or for any other program in our school. A big thank you goes out to the CHSBPA, who directly supports us in our fundraising campaigns to make this happen for your student. Place and Pay for Orders Online by: Friday, October 28, 2022 Pickup Orders by: Tuesday, November 22, 2022 (More information on pickup will be out at a later date) ** I highly recommend fundraising this year, as we have the opportunity now to have a regular performance, workshop, and traveling season. Information on our Symphonic and Choir tour to Halifax will be coming out asap! The first deposit for that will be $450, due on November 4. I have pushed future payments for the tour out until January, so that families have time to fundraise. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Tuesday, September 20, 2022 @ 6:30 pm in the Cochrane High Theatre.
Please join us for our Music Information Night and AGM for all band and choir parents/guardians. We will provide a lot of information for the school year, discuss our tour and other trips, give you an overview of the calendar events and answer any questions you have. This evening is also an opportunity to pay your uniform fee, CHSBPA, and fill out any forms we need from you. Our CHSBPA (Band Parent Association) will be on hand to run the AGM and seek out new amazing volunteers. :) * We ask one parent/guardian attend per music family Thank you :) All Grade 9 - 12 Band students are expected to be present for our start of year band clinics.
Friday, September 16, 2022 @ 1:30 - 3:15 pm. Students will have small group instruction from a professional musician and clinician. These clinics do cost us a lot of money. Please help to ensure that you can be present for these. Our clinics benefit our musicians in so many ways. We appreciate you making the time to join us. Thank you so much!! Please return your instrument rental form as soon as possible.
Both student and parent must sign the form. **Percussionists and String Bass students need to fill one out for use of the class equipment. Thank you!! |
