Tuesday, February 26: AIBF Band festival date
- AIBFestival for Symphonic Band and Grade 9 Band

Symphonic Band schedule: 

• Arrive at school for 7:15 am, depart for U of C Rozsa Centre at 7:30 am
• Performance time is 9:00 am (family/friends welcome to attend!)
• Workshop at 9:30 am
• Depart around 10:15 am
• Arrive back to school around 10:45/11 am

Jazz 3 rehearsal at 7:15 am in the band room

Grade 9 Band schedule:

• Meet in period 1 class to pack up
• Depart by 9:30 am for U of C Rozsa Centre
• Performance time at 11:00 am (family/friends welcome to attend!)
• Workshop at 11:30 am 
• Arrive back to school around 12:45/1pm

Wednesday, February 27:
Jazz 1 at 7:15 am - Workshop with Mr. Mark DeJong
** No Symphonic Band today (had it on Monday instead due to festival Feb 26)

Thursday, February 28: AIBF Jazz festival date**Stampede Park - TransAlta Performing Arts Studio

Jazz 2: February 28

• Rehearsal at 7:15 am in the band room for Jazz 2
• Load bus and depart school by 9:15 am (TransAlta Studios)
• Performance at 11 am (family and friends welcome)
  • The jazz festival has changed to a new format this year. Our students will perform with two other groups in a pod. We will all listen to one another, and then have our workshops at the same time in three different rooms. This is why the festival times are longer this year for the jazz groups.
• Arrive back around 2 pm
• We could still use another chaperone for this trip!

Jazz 1: February 28

• (workshop on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:15 am)
• Meet Ms. Lyons and chaperones in the band room at 11:30 am
• Load bus and depart school by 11:45 am
• Performance at 1:30 pm (family and friends welcome)
  • The jazz festival has changed to a new format this year. Our students will perform with two other groups in a pod. We will all listen to one another, and then have our workshops at the same time in three different rooms. This is why the festival times are longer this year.
• Arrive back around 4:30 pm (students must arrange own ride home from school)
• We could still use another chaperone for this trip!

Jazz 3: February 28

• (dress rehearsal on Tuesday, February, 26 at 7:15 am)
• Meet in the band room at 1:45 pm
• Depart school by 2:15 pm
• Performance at 4 pm (family and friends welcome)
  • The jazz festival has changed to a new format this year. Our students will perform with two other groups in a pod. We will all listen to one another, and then have our workshops at the same time in three different rooms. This is why the festival times are longer this year.
• Workshop at 5:30 pm
• Finished at 6:00 pm, pack up and depart by 6:15 pm
• Arrive back at school around 7 pm (students must arrange own ride home from school)

** Please note, that students are encouraged to bring a lunch, dinner, and/or snacks with them, depending on the length of time they are away. There will be no access to hot water or a microwave, so please ensure it is a cold bagged lunch. NO Nuts/peanuts please.
** Closed/sealed Water bottles are highly encouraged for our trips!!
** Students must arrive in uniform when meeting for pack-up/departure times, as we do not have space to change once we are at our venues.
** Students are also required to ensure they have packed everything they need for the festival, including music, instrument, extra reeds, mallets, valve oil, tuners, maintenance supplies, etc. We will not have extras with us, as we already need to carry first aid supplies and a full repair kit.
** Please ensure you are practicing to prepare for the festival, and ensure your instrument is in good working condition.
