Hello parents and band families,

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and the bit of warmer weather we're having. Here are some of the updates happening in our classes at the moment: 

Fundraising

• ADmazing Savings has officially ended
• Beef Jerky has officially ended 
• Grocery Cards are on-going
• Tickets for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker can be bought at the office for $12.00 - Movie is opening day on Friday, December 20th at the Cochrane Movie House - doors open at 2:30 pm and show starts at 3:00 pm. Make sure you buy your tickets fast! As the end to the whole saga, this is going to sell out fast!
• Purdy's forms have been sent home with students - information below:
  • Please note that this fundraiser is optional, but has a 25% return for your student's fundraising account and is easy to sell with lots of great Christmas ideas.  
    
    Some important points:
    
    1)   Students will receive a printout with their unique log-in code. 
    Customers will log on with the student's code to the Purdy's site and
    follow the instructions to place their order online and pay with credit card.
    2) This fundraiser is run entirely online.  No paper orders, cheques, cash, etc., 
    will be accepted.
    3) Orders can be placed online until Wednesday, November 27th.  
    4) Orders will be available for pickup at the Winter Concert on December 10th.

Concerts
We’re staring concert season in the face at the moment, here’s some information that might prove helpful!

1. Thursday Nov 28th Jazz Concert – 7:00pm in CHS Theatre (all jazz ensembles at CHS will perform) – anyone else is welcome to attend! (Free!)
   1. Parent Teacher Interviews were also placed on this date – every day they looked to place the interviews had a conflict. If you’re looking to see teachers before the concert, you’ll be able to book slots on/around Nov 18th online – I believe they will start at 4:00pm
   2. Students will need to be in the band room, in uniform, by 6:30pm for a group warm up.
2. Tuesday Dec 10th Christmas Concert – 7:00pm in CHS Gymnasium (All concert bands and our choir) – also free admission!
   1. We’ll need student help the morning of the concert to set up – we need to lay out the matts, set up chairs, set up sound equipment, set up the staging/risers in the front, and bring the instruments over. We’ll start at 7:00am and need to be finished by 9:00am. If your child would be able to help, that would be greatly appreciated!
   2. Students will need to be in the band room by 6:20 in uniform for pre-concert announcements, warm-up, and tuning.
   3. We’ll also need help taking all the equipment down after the concert –

•  If you’re into competing… [[Our all-time record for having everything packed away and organized is 9:11pm (31 minutes after the concert finished!)(Record set back in December 2017) – if everyone helps, it goes quickly!]]

    3. Our choir is singing at the Jubilee Auditorium on Wednesday Nov 27 – if you’re interested in             more information, please contact me and I’ll send the info regarding tickets.
